  1. ANTICOAGULANTS

If you are on ANTICOAGULANTS you need to stop your medication prior to your procedure.

All patients taking blood thinning medications such as Coumadin, Warfarin, Plavix, Lovenox, Heparin, and Aspirin must stop this medication prior to the procedure unless otherwise instructed by your provider. Please obtain permission from the prescriber of these medicines before stopping.

2. CONSCIOUS SEDATION

What are the patients responsibilities?

You MUST have an adult driver (no bus or taxi unless you have an adult escort with you) and you may not have anything to eat or drink 6 hours prior to the scheduled procedure (this includes gum, mints and hard candies). If you do not have an adult driver or escort, or have eaten/drank within the 6 hours you will not be able to receive conscious sedation. However, you may take your pain medications with sips of clear fluids within the 6 hour limit. You can expect to remain with us for approximately 30 minutes after your procedure.
