Treatment Philosophy

“The goal of pain treatment is not simply to relieve pain but to return the patient to satisfactory physical and psychological function”1.

Professional Journey

My first hospital job was as an anesthesia technician while I was completing my undergraduate coursework. After 3 years of working as an RN in a shock trauma ICU and Emergency Department, I enrolled in a nurse anesthesia program. During this a family member began to develop severe and debilitating chronic pain. After successful completion of anesthesia school and becoming board certified as a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist), I realized I was proficient in treating acute pain but had insufficient understanding of chronic pain and how it is treated. This caused me to further my education in pain management and arrive at a practice that offers an array of treatment options for those who suffer from chronic pain.

Special Interests:

The most rewarding aspect of treating pain is to be able to tailor a treatment using the latest research that will make the greatest contribution to a successful outcome.
