Patricia Phelps believes that learning about ourselves is ongoing.  "I've worked to understand others and myself throughout my career and I'm comfortable working with people from all walks of life.  From experience, I know that each individual has his/her way of living that works."

"A vibrant life requires experiencing emotions rather than blocking or numbing them." Patricia's hope is that you will learn to embrace your emotions and enter into a relationship with them.  This will allow you to be more present and connected to others.

Her treatment orientation is psychodynamic and solution focused.  "I also take a holistic approach to treatment and believe strongly in the mind-body connection."

I am known to gently challenge the beliefs and assumptions one holds that can prevent them from reaching their full potential.  My hope is that the theraputic experience will bring you many "ah-ha" moments.

Areas of special interest and expertise include addiction, eating disorders, trauma, life transitions, grief, depression and anxiety.

Prior to joining PainCare, Patricia worked in various mental health settings and school systems, as well as working as a consultant and in private practice.
