"Laughter is the best medicine. Life is most worth living when you are able to derive pleasure from it. I believe everyone, especially those afflicted by pain, should make the most out of his or her life, and humor is a vital part of that process."

Special Interests

Occipital neuromodulation for migraines, fibromyalgia, traumatic brain injury; spinal cord stimulation for intractable neck/back pain and peripheral vascular disease; discography and spinal diagnostic procedures; percutaneous disc decompression for bulging and herniated discs; vertebroplasty for vertebral compression fractures; trigeminal nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation of the trigeminal nerve for trigeminal neuralgia.

I’m a third generation doctor. My father and grandfather inspired me to go into medicine. I also majored in poetry and drama in college as I have always found meaning in the human condition. I wanted my work to be a source of personal growth and I have learned much from my patients... perspective, humility, and the importance of love and laughter.

Professional Journey

"Before joining PainCare, I was the Director of the Pain Management Fellowship program at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn and also taught the specialty of pain management to medical students, resident physicians, and fellows in the Department of Anesthesiology." The fellowship program encompassed four major academic hospitals and, at the time, Dr. Greenspan was the youngest pain program director in the country. He was also the Director of Pain Management at Long Island College Hospital, Lutheran Medical Center, and Downstate Medical Center.
