Treatment plan

Chronic pain is best treated using a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach.

Following your initial consultation, you and your provider will develop an individualized treatment plan.  The vast majority of chronic pain patients choose a blend of injections, medications, physical therapy, and behavioral and lifestyle counseling.  For example, physical therapy may be recommended once the pain is under control by medication or other means and when the patient is able to tolerate such therapy.

How is the plan created and modified?

  • Provide a comprehensive diagnostic work up
  • Develop and implement a treatment plan based on the patient's special needs and experience with pain, beginning with the simplest and least invasive treatments
  • Create intensive and individualized education programs to educate patients and their families about pain and treatment options
