“I was referred 25 years ago by my primary care physician because I had had an escalating amount of pain without really knowing why. It turned out to be fibromyalgia and eventually we also diagnosed chronic lyme disease. The pain was quite debilitating, I was rapidly losing mobility. I went from walking freely, to a cane, to two canes, and eventually to a walker.

I’m now back to the point of being able to walk sometimes with a cane and sometimes with the walker – that is a big step forward for me. I am able to play with the grandchildren again, I’m able to be in the garden again, and I am able to be involved in non-profits that I am very close to.
