Dr. Michael O'Connell donates to St. Charles Children's Home Print E-mail

DOVER -- Dr. O'Connell and members of his staff presented the Children's Home with a check for $10,000 earmarked for "Capital Expenditures in the Children's Areas." They toured the Home to see what improvements are planned with the funds and meet some of the children the money will help.

Dr. Michael O'Connell, MD, MHA, CEO and owner of two local surgery centers (Somersworth and Merrimack) has received tremendous community support since opening his pain management business in 1992. He wants to show his gratitude by giving back. "Being first in the area to advance the specialty of pain management hasn't been easy but the faith of thousands of patients in our efforts has seen us through," says Dr. O'Connell. While most of the patients treated at the surgery centers are adults, the office wants to recognize the dedicated efforts of the Sisters of Charity to meet the needs of Rochester area children, many of whom suffer an individual pain of their own.

Dr. O'Connell's PainCare Centers are staffed by professionals whose one and only specialty is pain relief. Conditions which are commonly treated include back pain, shingles, pain after an injury, sciatica, migraines, spasticity, herniated discs, joint pain, post-stroke pain and cancer pain. Update Nov. 2007 - A long-time patient of Dr. O'Connell's, Carolyn Hoeker, also made a donation in his name to the St. Charles Home.
