A discography is a diagnostic procedure in which a fluoroscopically-guided x-ray dye is injected into a suspect spinal disc and an x-ray (discogram) is taken. The injection pressure may reproduce the pain and visually demonstrate the pathology, such as a tear in the lining of the disc. The results of discography can be used to predict success with IDET (IntraDiscal ElectroThermal Therapy) or Nucleoplasty. |
