![]() Rick Renner, PA-C Treatment Philosophy: "My work philosophy is adopted from a prior medical practice: We listen, we care, we take the time. I try to bring these traits into every interaction with my patients. The investment of my time and good listening skills helps to demystify the complicated medical issues facing each individual." Rick is determined to meet the challenge of helping people understand their problems and simplify their path to relief. He feels strongly that one cannot treat the body separately from the mind. "I believe it is imperative for my patients to work toward improving their mental health as much as physical health while practicing daily preventive care and maintenance." Special Interests: Since Rick is also a practitioner at Salmon Falls Family Healthcare, he brings a fresh, whole-health approach to pain management. "By treating the whole person, using safe, effective, and current approaches, I am better able to help the patient transition off habit forming medication." Rick feels this non judgmental approach of evaluating prior addictive tendencies more successfully transitions the patient to a happier, drug free life. "Substance abuse is extremely prevalent in our society. Fortunately, there are now many choices available that we can use to guide us away from the devastating effects of drug addiction."
I had left the notion of a career as a history teacher/football coach for the humble, yet noble, pursuit of medicine. Having been rather intimidated by physicians all my life, I was determined to dispel the communication gap and simplify the relationship between patient and medical provider."
Professional Journey: Rick began his medical experience working as an orderly in a local hospital after college. After transfering to the hospital's respiratory therapy department, he decided to apply to physician assistant's school. Rick strongly believes that by diligently increasing the diversity of his practice, through continued education and counsel with his contemporaries, he upholds the essential hallmarks of his profession. As one of the very first PAs to practice in this country, Rick brings 32 years of rich and rewarding experience to patient care!
